It works well, but muting it is a little tricky. The dryer is great, but it often turns off when we sleep and we don't want the noise to wake us up. It's not entirely obvious how to mute it: you have to hold the up button for 5 seconds and then wait for the chime that confirms the sound is muted. I wish it was a hardware switch so we could turn it off permanently and know it's off. Currently, we have to do this every time because we don't know if it remembers the previous setting and it may have been logged out since the last time we used it.December 29, 2024

Excellent dehydrator. I use it to dry everything: jerky, fruit, veggies, and pickles. Works great. The temperature control is a little confusing, but that's it. Not a big deal and probably not worth mentioning, but I mention it anyway.July 25, 2024

It works great…but this dryer works great when it works. I lasted almost a year before my dryer broke. But I loved it so much that I bought a new one to replace the one that broke. That's how much I love it. I would give it 5 stars if I hadn't had to replace it after 10 months of use.May 4, 2024

Pretty close to perfect, but with one small flaw. I've been using this dehydrator for a while now, but won't be taking pictures because it needs to be cleaned since I last used it to dry meat. See, this thing is pretty good. I've prepared meat here, but mostly used different fruits. The problem with jerky or dried meat is that any amount of fat will ruin your jerky. So, if you don't remove every bit of fat, your jerky will go bad. I'm not a capital one, but this is a moment that needs it, a warning to all. Now for the fruit, folks! Take a pineapple, cut it into small pieces, and put it in the dehydrator. The pineapple is edible after it's cut, but that's just part of the process. While it's in the dryer, the whole house starts to smell like pineapple. When you're done, you'll have some easy snacks to take with you on hikes, walks, or whatever. Once you've made a few bags of trail mix yourself, you'll see the benefits, and it'll be worth it for a long time. The only downside is that the grid is so fine that things fall through it. As they dry, the pieces fall through and stain other props. Ultimately, this wasn't a big deal, but I wish there was a way to separate the different layers more permanently. Otherwise, this project has a use!September 13, 2023

Dehydration times vary widely. I took off a star because it took 24 hours to dehydrate the grapes and there was a sheet of parchment paper on the bottom. I didn't find it necessary.July 29, 2023

It does work but I don't like the digital setting. It's not easy to use or press. Sometimes you have to press the power button multiple times. I've only had it since Christmas and have used it maybe 20 times so I hate the digital setting but other than that everything is great. The tray is easy to clean and it barely makes any noise when in use.July 7, 2023

Great dehumidifier! Excellent dehumidifier. Great capacity, great temperature control, very good timer function, and easy to clean! If you've ever used a regular dryer, you know how annoying it is to clean! This model takes all the hassle out of it. One important feature of this dehumidifier is that you have to install it while it's running and make sure the bottom of the unit is well ventilated because the exhaust and heating elements will heat up the bottom and everything else above it, see above. So if you place it on top of a dehumidifier, it's best to make sure the surface the dehumidifier is on is also suitable for heating when the weather is hot. I place this unit on the stovetop or in an inverted pot so it doubles as a heat sink and gives you peace of mind. Otherwise, I recommend this unit if you want to dry something. Closer to professional level than most of the things you can buy for free. A little more expensive, but worth it. This unit also shows suggestions for extra shelves. You should buy it, and be glad you did because if you don't use all of it, you're wasting space. Overall, I'm very happy with this machine and the results!February 21, 2023

See recipe. Instructions say to cut the fruit into 1/4" pieces. The banana and apple slices were soft, not crisp. I visited several sites and they all said to cut the fruit into 1/8".September 11, 2022

Very good. I just started dehydrating. I chose it for a few reasons. 1. Metal grid. 2. Comes with some accessories. 3. It's more like an oven and I'm worried they won't get the air exchange right. I don't like the idea of having to work harder. Set a temperature and forget about it. Automatic shutoff. I've already dehydrated pineapple and beef and this is my first time making skins. Basil takes a long time. So far, I have tried drying potato cubes and basil. The temperature and timer are easy to control. Drying potato cubes for making French fries is quick and easy. Drying basil is not so easy. According to the recipe, it takes more than 24 hours to dry 6 jars of basil at 40 degrees. And that's not the end: just put it in the microwave for one minute to finish drying. If we put it in the dryer, it might take about 12 more hours.August 7, 2022

Nice product, except… it's a great dehydrator. The only criticism I would have is that when making mincemeat sticks, the meat sticks to the trays and is hard to remove, and the trays are hard to clean. If I spray the baking trays with cooking oil, it's easier to clean, but not perfect. Other than that, it's a great product.June 20, 2022

This worked great except for the basil leaves. I was considering upgrading my old unit since I bought it primarily for drying herbs. This was my second time using it and I was confident it wouldn't dry out. I dried 4 trays of basil at 100 degrees for over 20 hours and they would not dry out at all. Upgrade! On the next batch of basil I increased the temperature to 125 degrees and it was dry in about 6 hours. I microwaved it again for a minute to make sure it was dry and crisp. Then I added a handful of parsley and it was done a few hours later when I heated it up to 100 degrees.January 5, 2022

This is a small and convenient device. I love how easy it is to use. I didn't expect it to be so small. I was thinking of ordering another model. I got some great info from previous reviews. It saved me some trouble because I get impatient reading the manual. It states that the grill should be heated and cleaned before use. One was concerned about crumbs falling on the car floor and wanted to put aluminum foil on it. The machine showed that there was no aluminum foil. This causes the device to overheat. Just use the tray to make fruit leather. At first I was disappointed that there was no default setting for herbs. The recipe book has everything you need to make it. I wore the thong for 6 days straight. It got better with marinated meats. Fruits and vegetables have not worked so well so far. Pleasant and quiet white noise.October 11, 2021

Large capacity and runs smoothly. The unit works well and keeps the temperature at -5 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the amount of air it moves. So far I have only used it for bananas and apples but soon I will be using it for jerky as well. We have tried making fruit leather but I think it just takes practice. I was very disappointed when I saw the damaged box at my door. In the delivery photos the damage was masked by other miniature packages from the same order so it wasn't necessarily the courier's fault. I took the unit apart, bent the box to an acceptable level of "dent" and checked that no working parts were damaged.October 4, 2021

This is a MINI DRYER! This dryer is MINI! I didn't see that in the description, it was just compact. That was my mistake, not reading the actual size. It is perfect for 1 or 2 people for small amounts of food. It is not what I wanted, now I have to buy a bigger one to store all the herbs and veggies I pick from the garden. I will keep it but be aware that it is much smaller than what is shown in the pictures or description. Use a letter size envelope and spice jar for size comparison.September 17, 2021

Not bad. Take my opinion with a pinch of salt as this is my first dehydrator. I bought it to make chicken jerky for my puppy and now I make pork jerky for myself as well. I use a meat probe to check the internal temp when I'm working on a batch and mine only hit 155 when this dehydrator hit 165 so for safety reasons I heat the meat, pork to at least 160 and chicken to 165 before dehydrating. If this really gets the chicken to 165 internal temp quickly enough so it doesn't need to be precooked it would be a 5 star review. I use the plastic tray on the bottom to catch the drippings and it makes clean up easy as the rack is small enough to sit completely over the sink and it's easy to submerge and wipe off leftover food. This keeps the surface it sits on warm but not hot to the touch. Mine is in the spare freezer and the lid is hot but not dangerous to touch. I'm still trying to figure out the best times and temps but so far I'm happy with this purchase and my dog is happy with the chicken.June 5, 2021

Very good, I wish there were more disc options. I really like my dryer. It's sleek, quiet, very easy to use and works great. Only 4 stars because I was disappointed with the discs that came with it. Only plastic trays were included and since that's for drying wet food, I had to buy a couple of silicone trays from other brands for the intended use.April 28, 2021

Works great! The dryer works great and I recommend it. What I don't like is the metal tray because it gets hot when you take it out. It would be better to use a plastic tray. Also, I wish it had a rack that could hold all 6 sheets instead of just 1. The rack is small and not as big as the metal tray. They should be the same size.April 22, 2020

Excellent dehydrator. I've only used it twice because I'm new to dehydrating. Paprika worked great, rosemary and sage didn't work so well. On the other hand, I'm a novice and I definitely had to adjust the recommended times to suit my food.January 24, 2020
